First encounters with the working world
What is life like working at a production company? Five girls and one boy, aged 12 to 14, gained first-hand knowledge on March 27th at this year’s nationwide Girls & Boys Day. The six teenagers, four of whom attend Kurt-Schumacher-Schule at Karben, took advantage of this extracurricular event to take a sneak peek behind the scenes of the event industry and soak up the atmosphere. After a brief round of introductions, they took a closer look at various event-related professions, including the role of an event technician—a career path rarely taken by women. Afterwards, they toured the company’s warehouses and workshops. The students set up a small stage, complete with a lighting rig, under the watchful eye of expert trainer Kai Bilges. The teenagers gained even more hands-on experience in the Graphics & Signage department, where they inscribed water bottles with their names.
