satis&fy at the BOE 2020

A signature, sustainable booth design

From January 15 to 16, 2020, the international trade fair for experiential marketing BOE International will take place at the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund. satis&fy AG will also be represented at the trade fair at the start of the year.

With a larger stand area and a new stand location, the international player for live communication will also present itself at the industry meeting point this year. For the BOE trade fair appearance, satis&fy had developed its own distinctive and sustainable stand design in 2019, which is expected to be visually convincing again in 2020. Themes with which the company wants to score at the fair: Innovation & Emerging Technology, Brand Experience, Exhibition Construction and Retail, Location Management and Permanent Installations, and Sustainability.

Innovation as a success factor
The use of digital technologies can optimize events or generate new event formats. At satis&fy, we didn’t just learn about this yesterday. Since the beginning, the company has been driven by a strong innovative force and develops solutions that help customers to offer their audience a better event experience and to promote participant engagement. At BOE, visitors will learn about the dimensions VR, AR and digital displays can add to the consumer experience and the tools satis&fy has at the ready. With the Dragon O, the company is also presenting a product with which completely new, visual emotions can be generated for all types of target groups and occasions such as events, trade fairs, museums, concerts and clubbing. The Dragon O is a three-dimensional space made of thousands of pixels, which satis&fy helped to develop further. Due to its size, the Dragon O will be exhibited in the catering area of the fair. Information is available at the booth.

More visitor engagement through brand experience
With the project “IQOS World revealed by Alex Chinneck”, satis&fy succeeded in supporting IQOS in implementing a unique and unmistakable Brand Experience. The project not only counted the most visitors at Milan Design Week 2019, but also generated the most Instagram posts. The part satis&fy played in this extraordinary installation can be discovered at the booth. On the eve of the BOE, there will be an award in gold, silver or bronze for the technical and structural implementation of the art project at BrandEX.

Haptics and digital in retail

In addition to classic trade fair construction, satis&fy has also been increasingly implementing store construction projects for several years, creating store fittings and developing store designs, always with the POS firmly in mind. In the USA in particular, the company has steadily expanded this area over the past five years. In addition to Dyson and Samsung, the company’s clients also include Nike. For the sporting goods manufacturer, for example, the New York flagship store Niketown was redesigned over several years to match the respective brand campaign, often overnight. On the other side of the continent, too, satis&fy is increasingly specializing in interior design and retail. Just recently, satis&fy furnished a training loft in Düsseldorf for a telecommunications company, skilfully combining digital technology with haptics.

Location Management & Permanent Installations: For successful venues
Curio-Haus in Hamburg, Halle 45 in Mainz, Kraftwerk in Berlin, Dortmund’s Westfalenhallen – these are just four of more than 20 event locations that satis&fy manages as a Preferred or Exclusive Partner. A permanent location support by satis&fy has several advantages for location operators. You can find out what these are at the trade fair. The company can also point to many years of expertise in the field of fixed installations and fixtures for lighting and media technology as well as sound systems. Examples of installations will be shown where low downtime and operating costs were key planning factors. Customers include the Gibson Club in Frankfurt, the Skaters Palace in Münster, the Eventkirche in Dortmund and the Loftclub in Ludwigshafen.

The big challenge: more sustainable events
It’s been concrete since November. satis&fy will implement the “Resource Efficiency in Event Services” project funded by the North Rhine-Westphalia State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection. To this end, over the next twelve months the company will examine all process steps in the technical and structural equipment of events and optimize them in a resource-friendly manner. On the one hand, the result will serve the company’s own optimization potential as an event service provider, and on the other hand, it will be possible to publish a publicly funded transparent guide. “With this guide, we want to close the knowledge gaps of event decision-makers and tenderers,” explains Marcus Stadler, environmental consultant at satis&fy. According to Stadler, far too little attention is still paid to the CO2 footprint that stems from the structural implementation and technical equipment of events. “Sustainability unfortunately still stops at the stage,” he concludes. Yet it would be easy to do good for the environment “if customers demanded more sustainability through concrete product specifications and wording in their tenders.” Even though much had already been done in the past to reduce resource consumption and material flows, the project was breaking new ground in the industry. “Until now, the environmental impact of an event in on-site equipment has never been part of an overarching holistic view,” Stadler said. Even the Federal Environment Agency’s “Guidelines for the Organization of Sustainable Events” omits precisely this point, he adds. At the trade fair, Stadler will be available to answer questions and exchange ideas with interested visitors on both days.

And the winner is …
Like last year, satis&fy invites customers, partners and friends to a small get-together at the booth on the first BOE evening. This offers the opportunity to continue conversations from the day, to exchange impressions of the first day of the fair and, above all, to toast the success of the previous evening, whatever that may be.
