The Old Opera in a new look
Once a year, Frankfurt am Main is especially illuminated and the city is flooded with colourful lights. During the Luminale you will find light installations and projections at various locations in Frankfurt, which will bring new “light” to the buildings and statues.
Changing Times
One of the highlights of Luminale 2018 is the mapping of the Alte Oper including 3D sound! satis&fy provided sound and lighting equipment for the outdoor light art at the Alte Oper. For the first time, the façade of the Alte Oper served as a projection surface for the project “Changing Times“.
Pictures, graphic animations, video streams and 3D effects set the facade in motion and showed the audience the history of the venerable building. The building, which opened in 1880, experienced a turbulent period. The staging also included the destruction during the Second World War and the reconstruction. This was also accompanied by historical video footage and gave the audience goose bumps. 3D sound effects supported the staging with spatially differentiated sounds and gave it an additional dimension.
