satis&fy realizes technical modernization of the Gibson Club Frankfurt | With the L-Series from L-Acoustics, Gibson relies on a state-of-the-art and sustainable PA system
satis&fy was involved as technical partner from the outset and demonstrated the advantages of the L2D speakers from L-Acoustics as early as last summer by means of A/B testing.
The conversion, under the joint project management of satis&fy and Gibson, took place in the last few weeks while the club was in operation.
Every company that wants to be consistently successful must also change consistently. Bastian Bernhagen knows this and that is why he decided to give his nightclub a comprehensive facelift last year. Of course, the sound system is essential for a music venue. As a long-standing technology partner, satis&fy was involved in the consulting and implementation process at an early stage. After a demonstration including a live test last year, the decision was made to use loudspeakers from the L-Series with the patented “Progressive Ultra-Dense Line Source (PULS)” technology from L-Acoustics. The sonic advantages of the L-Series include a sound pressure level in relation to size, an even sound distribution in the audience area, and optimized sound dispersion.
To optimize the sound system for the venue, L-Acoustics performed a complete acoustic re-evaluation of the club, while satis&fy was responsible for the system’s setup and installation. Subsequently, the resident DJs were invited to a joint training session to prepare them for the changed acoustics in the club. Visitors can look forward to a completely new sound experience that points the way to the future.
“I’ve been playing at Gibson since day one and all I can say is that with the new sound system, it’s like playing at a whole new venue. It’s bombastic and impressive,” says DJ Le Alen, resident DJ at Gibson.
Since the club was converted while it remained open, satis&fy was also required to provide precise construction planning and logistics. A meticulously prepared construction schedule was drawn up in advance, which, among other things, divided the work into separate tasks to ensure maximum security for club operations: in the first week, rigging and lighting were replaced, then the company HELI renewed the famous LED wall of the Gibson, and in the third week, it was the turn of the PA system. The coordination with external and internal teams went smoothly.
“Without the expertise and experience in the field of logistics and the forward-looking planning of satis&fy, the renovation would not have gone so smoothly. By dividing the work into different parts, we had a buffer in case something went wrong at one point – that saved a lot of nerves. Of course, it was a special challenge to tackle such an intensive renovation without closing the club. But it was mastered with flying colors by everyone involved,” says Bastian Bernhagen, owner of Gibson Club.
In addition to installing the sound system and managing the project, satis&fy was also responsible for the modern truss design, which was developed together with lighting technician Jochen Göpfer and has replaced the trusses in the club. With new ROBE lamps and an LED wall that has also been renewed, the Gibson Club is well equipped for the next twelve years.
