satis&fy is technical partner of the major project for the second time
As a partner in all trades, satis&fy is once again responsible for the technically, scenically and logistically smooth running of the event. A special highlight for both service providers and visitors is the impressive 3D mapping, which transforms the outer façade of the High Cathedral into part of the stage scenery using four high-performance projectors.
To ensure that the return of “Bonifatius – The Musical” to the Domplatz open-air stage not only builds on the resounding success of 2019, but even surpasses it, satis&fy is relying on tried-and-tested technology and scenic features and fine-tuning the details.
The cathedral will once again become a thematically appropriate and visually impressive stage backdrop. Four projectors with an output of 40k ANSI lumens will be used for this. Two of them are equipped with special mirror optics for the short distance between the suspension and the projection surface.
Both the cathedral façade and the flanking LED walls, from satis&fy’s own stock, become part of the staging. As well as an additional show element in the form of a movable stretched truss ring, which can also be repositioned during the show thanks to the C1 motor system from Cyberhoist. As a projection surface for a fifth 50k ANSI lumen high-performance projector, it blends organically into the staging.
The tower stage itself from Megaforce also impresses with a number of special features. At 60 meters wide, it offers 300 square meters of playing space and 600 square meters for the choir and orchestra. Meanwhile, the custom-made transparent stage roof gives the audience an uninterrupted view of the entire cathedral area, including 3D façade mapping.
The PA system comes from the L’Acoustics portfolio. Visitors can expect an immersive sound design that is modeled three-dimensionally and takes the positions of the actors on stage into account during playback. The objective is outdoor theater level. The production uses a total of 105 loudspeakers and is illuminated by 300 spotlights, most of which are from satis&fy’s own inventory.
The festivities will kick off on Friday, August 16, with a gala evening to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the production company spotlight musicals. This will be followed by “Bonifatius – The Musical” from August 22 to 31.
